Allison Chock, Bentham IMF Chief Investment Officer-US and Legal Counsel, has been appointed to the board of directors for Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation. The organization works with major law firms and corporations to impact a wide spectrum of people who live at or below the poverty level.

Allison’s board position with Public Counsel is one of a variety of leadership positions she holds that are focused on championing Bentham’s commitment to increasing access to civil justice. She is also an active member on the board of advisors for the University of California, Irvine School of Law’s Civil Justice Research Institute, which studies factors that limit access to America’s court system. In 2016, she helped spearhead Bentham’s decision to provide a significant capital contribution to the Institute in furtherance of its mission.

“It is a privilege for me to contribute to the success of Public Counsel, an organization that annually assists more than 30,000 families, children, immigrants, veterans, and nonprofit organizations and addresses systemic poverty and civil rights issues through impact litigation and policy advocacy,” said Ms. Chock. “Public Counsel plays a critical role in protecting the legal rights of disadvantaged individuals and fostering access to legal representation. I’m honored to serve on the board of an organization engaging in such important work.”
